Match Report:
On a glorious day at Maesdu our first match of the super senior season Cheshire were the winners 4½ – ½. Mike Bryant, the President of NWCGA did the honours for starting and afterwards spoke encouraging words regarding super seniors golf. It was the 1st Super Seniors fixture for North Wales; Karl Lurz, the NWCGA team captain suggested that we contribute to a cup to be played for between our counties, the cup to be in memory of our distinguished friend & colleague the late Phil Jones. Phil had strong connections with North Wales, being Welsh Seniors’ captain and winner of multiple seniors’ events. We hope to play next year for the proposed cup in a Away fixture.
